FAQ

  • No, we are not BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts). This choice reflects our commitment to the social model of disability and neurodiversity-affirming approaches. While the mental model of individual BCBAs may vary, behavior analysts traditionally view disability through a medical model that emphasizes changing client behavior to better suit neurotypical norms. Our approach emphasizes authentic expression over compliance, and seeks to that address the ableist conditions that dominate educational environments.

  • We do not use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in our approach. Instead, we address educational and behavioral concerns using evidence-based practices such as: Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, Interoceptive Awareness, and TEACCH. These practices center collaboratively exploring the internal experience of the student, which is a fundamental diversion from ABA that focuses on the functions of outwardly visible behaviors.

  • We work with children and young adults from ages 3-21 with developmental, intellectual and learning disabilities. We have a wide-range of experience, including working with children who are traditionally- or self-diagnosed with Autism (including with PDA profiles), ADHD, ODD, Down Syndrome, and anxiety.
